The weather is warming up. Here are five things you can do as spring arrives!

Punxsutawney Phil may have called for six more weeks of winter, but the spring is still well on its way in, and as the weather warms up and the flowers begin to bloom, you might be looking for a few things to do. Here are some of our favorite springtime activities that keep us busy and active during one of the most beautiful times of the year.

  1. Go for a Hike

After a long winter that might have brought weather too cold to go for a hike, now is a great time to get in touch with nature and take on your local hiking trails. With amazing weather, beautiful scenery and the potential for a bit more free time, spring provides the perfect chance to find a new trail to hit as you make your way through the season. We’re also freshly into the new year, which might also come with new opportunities. Making hiking part of your fitness and wellness journey can be a great way to connect with friends and the world around us!

  1. Take a Trip

Spring can bring an incredible opportunity to take that vacation you’ve always wanted to. Whether you’re looking at your bucket list or throwing a dart at a map, it’s likely that your destination comes set with perfect weather for your trip. You may also have a little bit of extra free time, meaning that now is the perfect time to visit a legendary spring break destination. You can hit a national park, the beach, the mountains or the desert. It doesn’t matter. Wherever you go, it’s probably going to be gorgeous, and it can be even better when you spend that time with those you care about most.

  1. Go to a Spring Training Baseball Game

The freshly cut grass. The smell of hotdogs. Lemonade that hits the perfect balance between sweet and sour. It must be baseball season. Right now, the baseball world is flocking to Arizona and Florida to take in some Spring Training games, giving fans the first look at their favorite teams and players ahead of the upcoming season. Whether you’re looking to take part in an exciting event for America’s pastime, you need a quick reason to get out of your routine or you’re trying to get a look at some of baseball’s unknown talent, the two states that host Spring Training are the places to be.

  1. Eat Delicious Springtime Foods

Pumpkin and peppermint had their moment. Now, it’s time for springtime foods to bring their best to the table. That means fresh fruits and veggies, like strawberries, beets, asparagus, carrots, artichokes and more. Spring is the perfect time to crack out your favorite staples and put your cooking skills to the test. You can use all of these fresh ingredients as the centerpiece of your favorite dish, or you can season them perfectly and place them on the side of the main course. Better yet, you can make delicious desserts, like pies and homemade popsicles, to enjoy with your family or to snack on as you lay by the pool.

  1. Watch Wildlife

The cold has come and gone, and the animals have come out to play. Spring is one of the best times of the year to take in wildlife, no matter if you’re just taking a look outside your window or visiting a local preserve. Just as we do, the animals love the warm weather, and they can’t wait to get out into the beautiful landscapes they live in. Now is also a favorite time of the year for birdwatchers, who might have an opportunity to see a rare species or travel to get their eyes on a regional bird they may never have seen before.
